I maintain that liberation struggles that practice nonviolence contribute to creating the nonviolent world in which we all want to live.

Without equality and justice without an end to state violence directed by a State Israel which was itself founded on violence it is not possible to imagine any future any future of true peace that is not peace as a euphemism for normalization which means keeping structures of inequality disenfranchisement and racism in place. But such a future cannot come if we do not remain free to name describe and confront all violence including Israeli state violence in all its forms and to do so without fear of censorship or criminalization or of being maliciously accused of antiSemitism.
The world I desire is one that would oppose the normalization of colonial rule and support Palestinian selfdetermination and freedom a world that would in fact fulfill the deepest desires of all the inhabitants of those lands to live together in freedom not violence equality and justice. No doubt this hope seems nave even impossible to many. However some of us must cling wildly to it refusing to believe that todays structures will exist forever. For that we need our poets and our dreamers the untamed crazy people those who know how to organize themselves.
